A Surprise Blessing

Yesterday we were blessed with a snow/ice event here in the south.  Yes, I say blessed....you see we were given extra time with our families, had a chance to just spend a relaxing day together with a warm fire, a cozy blanket and wonderful family.  There was also the opportunity to capture some of the beauty outdoors.  The 3-D effect that the thin coating of ice gave to everything was amazing.  The way the light bounced and changed colors, the way the beautiful creatures created by our Heavenly Father were out gathering their food while providing us with delightful songs.  The color contrast between the birds, squirrels and foliage was simply amazing.  The cold, snow and ice made this northwestern girl feel a little closer to home.  I am so thankful that we were given this blessing.
